Mr. Norman Baker asked us for a window survey: he had multiple sash windows which had different types of problems that he wanted resolved. Some windows required small repairs and painting, but others were in need of heavy draught proofing. The windows in the bedroom had been replaced previously but these were not according to the original design. He wanted us to copy the original mouldings and glazing bars of different other windows and produce sashes to same specifications.

Final Coat Applied
After the application of final coat, you can check its delicate wood grain patterns, and oak’s soft, smooth texture is best protected by a natural-looking finish. Traditionally either clear or amber shellac is favoured as a finish for interior doors because it offers protection but it will not obscure the wood’s natural texture and colour. After a little surface prep, the multi-coat shellac finish is applied in a single day without the hassle of removing the door from its frame.
Before Final Coat
Before applying the first coat of finish, we removed all handling marks, raised the grain and got rid of blemishes by sanding all the surfaces with 180 grit sandpaper. We also provide long term guarantees for the hardwood solid oak doors.
